Using the activity log

Which events are recorded automatically and why that matters for clients.

What is recorded

Creates, edits, and deletes of clients and assets; renewals; reminder sends; SSL checks; WHOIS date updates; reminder-rule changes; custom types; public-link changes. Each row has actor, time, subject, and extra properties.

What it is not

It is not a complete database audit trail. Ordinary asset edits mainly store name and date from/to, not a full field diff. Deleting a client does not write a separate event per nested asset. Owners can clear the log. CSV export of the log includes when, action, user, and name — not the full property payload.

Use it to show a client when a reminder went out or when a date moved, not as legal-grade immutability.
