Choosing between Cloud and Self-hosted

Neutral comparison of who operates the app, billing, and Cloud-only extras.

Same core tracker

Both editions track clients, assets, statuses, reminders, CSV import/export, activity, and read-only client links. Self-hosted is AGPL-licensed and has no in-app plan limits.

Cloud

Duvento runs the application, database, and scheduled jobs. You pay a monthly or annual plan through WayForPay. Plans cap users, clients, assets, SSL checks, and reminder emails. Hitting a cap makes the workspace read-only for new records until you upgrade.

Cloud also includes Telegram and Slack reminder channels, public API tokens, webhooks, MCP tool access, and RDAP/WHOIS expiry updates for domain assets. Those entitlements are not part of the self-hosted application.

Self-hosted

You run PHP, the database, HTTPS, backups, cron, and mail. There is no subscription and no WayForPay checkout. You keep the data on your server. You are responsible for updates and for locking /install after setup (the installer does this automatically via a lock file).

How to decide

Choose Cloud if you want hosting, billing, and the extra notification/API channels handled for you. Choose self-hosted if you need the data on your own infrastructure and can operate PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, and cron. You can export clients and assets as CSV from either edition and import them on the other; activity history exports but does not import.
